Young, confident and sexy – this is what Versace has given us this Pre-Fall season. One of my favourite Pre-Fall collections actually. Japanese Techno was Donatella Versace’s inspiration, visible thought out this vibrant and tantalizingly tight collection. The economic situation has definitely had an impact on the fashion industry, but Donatella seems to be staying true to her designs, unshaken by recession. Traces of tackiness can be sensed, but really, it wouldn’t be Versace without it.

Edgy coats and leggings worked preposterously well with traditional Japanese designs, that can be found on kimonos and silk paintings. What better way to showcase modern day Tokyo.

The zippers, bordered in tomato red, must be in complete shock from the electrifying patterns. A little jolt like this is needed in every collection. These pieces are just begging to be worn on the red carpet.

These contemporary pieces are just right for when it’s chilly outside, but not that freezing. With colour coordinated shoes and bags, you’ll be ready to take over the world.

Thigh-baring mini dresses, and perfectly matched accessories, fearlessly display the neon lights of Tokyo; blaring orange, electric blue and shocking green.

Long sleeves and shiny leggings just add even more chicness to these mini dresses with more traditional Japanese textile designs.

Unmistakably Versace, structured bodices and cascading skirts show a little softer, more delicate side to this collection. The piece in the centre is more wearable, fit for any socialite strutting down the streets of Hollywood.
All of the clothes seen here are only for editorial purposes. Actual outfits that will be sold in stores will be tailored in minor ways, for example longer dress lengths, so don’t feel intimidated by these blaring numbers. I wonder when Shakira will pick up one of these? She has been on a Versace roll lately.
